What my students are doing at Schoolism!

This is an example of what my students are currently working on for my class at Schoolism. This work was done by Duane, who I believe is my oldest student yet, he's 70 years old and works harder than most people I know. I think he's kicking serious butt!!!

My next class at Schoolism starts on February 18th, click here for additional information on how to sign up, or feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Also, I am planning on putting together a apprenticeship type class on drawing and painting caricatures. This class will be more advanced for those who want to really push themselves. I haven't gotten everything figured out yet on what exactly I will cover, but I do know that it will be hardcore. I will put a lot into it to make it worth your while. Any suggestions of what you would like to learn from me, I'm all ears!

I'd like to study color and hands. For three years I've pretty much focused on the values of the face. I'd like to learn more about color harmony in general and the split complimentary pallet in particular so I could start painting direct color. I'd also like to go over the anatomy of the hands somewhat like you teach the skull.

Know what you mean, Doug, I was wondering what a split pallet was, etc, and through this blog i keep meaning to get a little plastic skull for reference.

I have to tell you I'm encouraged by your posting from this 70-year old artist. I'm 52 and love to draw in my spare time (too infrequently), but I have often been discouraged by thoughts such as "I'm much to old to be indulging in such activity; I'll never reach the skill of younger, full time artists like the energetic Jason Seiler." Thanks for posting this!

Hi Jason! is a pleasure for me to talk to you, my name is David Duke, and several years ago that I follow the track, I have 33 years and 3 months ago I bought a graphics tablet, can not stop drawing ...
I studied Fine Arts in Spain (but not done), everybody said I was good, and all that, but life takes many turns and I left this world so apasionante.Hace as about 8 years since I drew, but I can not stop now, as I told you 3 months drawing, and recalling advice of my former teachers, but I see that my memories are not very clear, I have really wanted to learn and learn fast, but the language is a problem for me I guess you take the course you take through the internet is what I need to progress forward, but I insist that language can be a problem.
Well said, of course it will investigate what really interests me, and say hi to you that you are all an idol and an inspiration, thank you very much and health for you and yours! Greetings!
