Don Yang

Back with more CARICATURE for everyone! This is a painting I started yesterday and finished today, sketched and painted all in PS. The subject is Don Yang, he was one of my life drawing instructors as well as oil painting instructors in art school. Great painter, and a wonderful guy! The other two sketches are sketches I did while sitting outside at a park, just observing and sketching.

The sepia finish on the Yang portrait is Seiler gold. All the sketches shown are done with an artist's eye and a journeyman's skill. I have enjoyed and learned from your regular posts.

I don't know Don Yang, but after looking at your portrait I feel like I do. The personality and character in the face is superb.

The Yang piece is tops, Super skilled instructor and a REALLY nice guy. He deserves WAY more respect than most of the students at that school grant him.

Don is a great friend of mine and I must say I love the caricature. Seeing his sideward glance and raised brow. Wonderful work. It really captures him.
