Old Guy Sketches!

Working on a lot of projects, and sketching a lot, these quick sketches were done for fun, just experimenting with different possibilities within the same face. Stephen Silver's work has been a big influence and inspiration for me lately. If you don't have any of his books and you think of yourself as a serious artist, you're missing out, full of wealth!

Stephen Silver can be nothing but a good influence. I love these, I hope you keep experimenting with this kind of exaggeration.

It is easier for me when I draw a caricature, to deform the faces in a better way the second time that I try to do it.. did this happen to you in those sketchs??

Silver does rock. These look like some of the ones he did in the sketchbook that looks like a sketchbook he put out, awesome!!
You've been a machine lately, cranking out the projects and the plein airs, geez. That 1 day turnaround on the "Martin for Bloomberg" is particularly great! Thanks for the inspiration!!
