Old Guy Sketches!
Working on a lot of projects, and sketching a lot, these quick sketches were done for fun, just experimenting with different possibilities within the same face. Stephen Silver's work has been a big influence and inspiration for me lately. If you don't have any of his books and you think of yourself as a serious artist, you're missing out, full of wealth!

Very NICE!! I like em! Mr. Silver rocks, I don't have his book but I've seen tons of his work on his site. He is an amazing artist... like yourself!
nice progression of the stretch and pull. full of life. very nice
Stephen Silver can be nothing but a good influence. I love these, I hope you keep experimenting with this kind of exaggeration.
What ever you've been ordering at Starbuck's Jason I want to know.. great sketching - I also admire that you make it part of your regular art routine.
Nice work Jason!
It is easier for me when I draw a caricature, to deform the faces in a better way the second time that I try to do it.. did this happen to you in those sketchs??
love 'em!
Silver does rock. These look like some of the ones he did in the sketchbook that looks like a sketchbook he put out, awesome!!
You've been a machine lately, cranking out the projects and the plein airs, geez. That 1 day turnaround on the "Martin for Bloomberg" is particularly great! Thanks for the inspiration!!

Old men ae great to sketh the world has been etched so deeply on them. Sadly nobody but artists want pictures of them. ;-)
Babies and Old people are two of the funniest things in this world to draw...to me anyways. Maybe it's because there both falling apart at the seems. At anyrate, these are very fun!!
