The Audacity of Hillary!
"Hillary Clinton might be the Dem's presidential front-runner, but the trip to the White House makes a stop in Obama Country. Can the hometown girl beat the state's favorite son on what's now his home turf?" - David Bernstein, Chicago Magazine.
I shared a sneak peak of this a few weeks back, it's now published, so I can go ahead and share the whole piece with everyone. It's always nice when you pick up a magazine that you did work for and the actual printing job is done well, this is one of those jobs. I was at the grocery store with my wife last night and I saw the new issue of Chicago Magazine, flipped through it and found my illustration, always a cool feeling to see your work on the stands. I hope I never loose that childlike feeling.
Anyways, I've as you can see attached the full image as well as cropped close-ups! Technically I probably shouldn't have given so much attention and detail to Hillary because of how small she is in the illustration, however I couldn't control myself. The sketch and photo reference was too good to not have more fun with!

Don Yang
Back with more CARICATURE for everyone! This is a painting I started yesterday and finished today, sketched and painted all in PS. The subject is Don Yang, he was one of my life drawing instructors as well as oil painting instructors in art school. Great painter, and a wonderful guy! The other two sketches are sketches I did while sitting outside at a park, just observing and sketching.

Pete Sessions for D Magazine!
This was a job I did last week for Dallas Magazine. They wanted him to look evil, I wasn't really into the whole "horn" thing, but that's what they wanted. So from there I tried to take it to another level and hope that they would let me get away with it. They liked the direction I pushed it, so all is good!
THIS JUST IN! My good friend Ismael Roldan finally has a blog, so please give him a visit, he's a GREAT caricaturist and draftsman, awesome guy too, one of the greats who helped me get where I am today!
