My Online Class at Schoolism.com

As some of you know I am teaching an online class on The Art of Caricature at Schoolism.com. These are examples the kind of work my students are doing after only four lessons. I'm very proud of what they're doing, it's really exciting to see their growth and excitement. You can check out more of what my students are doing as well as what they have to say about the course on the schoolism blog onlineartclass.blogspot.com

If you would like to know more about my class, please visit Schoolism.com and watch my course trailer. My next class starts APRIL 29th, spaces are going fast!

Jason,
I've been looking at your site for a while now. I would love to take your class and I'm even more intrigued after looking at your students work. I will say however that I was a little disappointed in the last online class I took from CGSociety. There were some things I learned that were invaluable to me but for the money I paid ($500) I think it could have been a lot better and a lot more structured. Yours is double that and I would pay twice that if I knew it would be worth it. Can you tell me anything more about the class than I can learn from the schoolism website? I've been there and I watched the video. You're awesome man. Keep up the good work.

Hello Doug. Well this is what I can tell you. After the 1rst lesson a majority of my students told me the fee for the class was worth the first lesson alone . . . as the class has gone on, they've all become much better with their caricaturing as well as painting. Most have told me that it's been the best course they've ever taken. But what I think you should do is go to onlineartclass.blogspot.com and read what my students have to say about the course go back as far as you need to . . . you can contact the students through the blog, ask them questions, I believe you will get a lot of the class, it's laid back in one sense, as far as how I teach. But hard core as far as what you will learn. I hope to work with you!

Doug...I'm one of Jason's students and I concur with what he said. I've already done a lot of caricature work with editorial cartooning. To be honest, I thought I had some game, but after the first couple of lessons, I realized that I'm not even close to where I can be. My work has improved drastically since taking this course, and I anticipate it will continue to do so. The techniques I've learned have completely changed how I approach caricature. I've already told Jason that if he ever teaches a second course, I'll be first in line to take it.

I balked a bit at the money as well, but it has been one of the best investments in my career that I've ever made. I feel I've more than gotten my money's worth and we're only halfway through the course.

You've convinced me. I just need to register. Hopefully I'll get in before the class fills up. I can't tell you how excited I am about the class. I'm actually most excited about learning some of the color theory.
