El Pollo Loco!

This afternoon I took some high school art students to a local restaurant called "El Pollo Loco" and did some live sketching. We've talked for sometime now about going to a cafe or something to draw . . . and boy oh boy were there some interesting characters at "The Chicken Crazy" (as I like to call it).

This sketch is a quickie, took me about 8 minutes. What intrigued me about the "subject" I chose to sketch was not her weight, rather the wonderful shapes and flowing curves . . . . there was in fact food, or sauce dripping out of her mouth.

I ´m sure this drawing must be more a portrait than a caricature....

Jason I think I saw her today.. but by that time it was at Starbucks. Nice you could show some real skills to the younger up-and-coming artists.

How dare you, Jason! You ought to be ashamed of yourself. From now on you need to draw things that are square in shape and parallel to each other.

It's all good man. It's not like you went over and showed her the drawing afterwards to mock her :)
Great drawing, btw. And those kids must have been pretty awe-struck, seeing your work. Hopefully you gave them a slideshow of your stuff?

Marco . . . No, I didn't show her, but she did get up and walk past me. I quickly changed my screen to look like I was typing something. :) The kids know me well, I get together with them usually once a week to draw.

Thanks Jorge and Nelson!
